Are you aware that the comments we post on this board are being quoted in blogs out in cyberspace?! I did a quick Google on my user name, and found this:
http://www.virb.com/caryn74/blog/256444
The irony is not wasted on me--it was a discussion that we had about our kids not having privacy in what they post on the Internet. HA! I had no idea these discussions were being picked up and bandied about. I'm shocked!

This is news to me...I never thought to google my screen name...I got one hit from a post I did on another board...lots of stuff in Japanese...and there's a themamas out there with a MySpace too. And here I thought I'd put an original twist on the mommy theme. It's like I tell my kids, I guess...never say anything on the Internet that you wouldn't say to someone's face...
Shocking!
I'm appalled that my screen name has been invaded by impostors. I Village is the only place I use this screen name, so when googling "daddioe" and this comes up:
"wats up big daddioe you know just commin through to show my good love. i dnt get no betta."
Please!
Daddioe, it isn't funny to me. I don't feel as comfortable about posting here now as I did before. I don't mind people reading my posts on this website, but I don't necessarily want to be quoted far and wide. (And I don't think I"ve said anything all that quotable!!) Also, like iteadrinker mentioned on another thread, this is why I don't post my name or my kids' names or photos, or even get very specific about where I live. I wouldn't mind so much w/ this board, but if others are posting these things on their blogs, etc., I'm not comfortable with that.
Maybe I should change my user name to "parishilton" or something like that so if I get Googled, there will be too many other references to bother w/ my measly posts!
I searched my name and got a ton of hits. Of course most of them aren't mine, some are from this board and some are from the other boards I post on and some are my iConnect acct with my blog, but those don't come through with any info. You have to log in to see my info there.
I often search names on Google or Goodsearch just to see what comes up. I guess I am used to being on the net, because of our business and our website being out there. And if I am going to post on an open forum, I guess I have to expect people to see what I write. Maybe I should show this to my dd so she will realize just how much people can see when she posts things on the internet.
Good lesson to learn. Thanks for letting us know this.
I know every once in awhile there are posts that ask a question that look like (or may even say) that they will use your answers in a story.
I did a little bit of digging on this....When I typed my username in one of the sites it went to was Board Reader.
