Are you aware that the comments we post on this board are being quoted in blogs out in cyberspace?! I did a quick Google on my user name, and found this:

The irony is not wasted on me--it was a discussion that we had about our kids not having privacy in what they post on the Internet. HA! I had no idea these discussions were being picked up and bandied about. I'm shocked!

Maybe you could remain anonymous by changing your name to "cloudymammybuzillion"???
Why shocked? The point is if your publish anything in a public domain, you can not expect that it will not be disseminated to a wider audience.
I have google my real name and,no surprise, there are several references. I have published technical papers. Search my "nom de plume" and a few references popped up from ivillage.
Humm, maybe it is time to change my name...
I'm not shocked that it would turn up on Google as a reference to this board or even a "board reader" service. I'm shocked that someone took my comments and used them in some article on her blog! I think it reinforces the point you made recently about how some of us aren't comfortable posting our kids' photos or names here. I wouldn't mind if they stayed here, but obviously you can't guarantee that they will. (Although I enjoy seeing everyone's photos and wish I felt comfortable doing the same!)
Yes, you hit the nail!
If one could be sure that one's information, pictures, opinions, questions, concerns... stayed on this board or similar venue, it would be OK. But it isn't.
Your right on the kids names and photos----
Very interesting!
"But we don’t really know if your Paris or not.... Sort of makes it interesting."
