Do you have a favorite ornament or holiday decoration?

We have so many wonderful things that it is hard to pick one favorite. I love all the little things the kids have made over the years, but I guess my favorite would be from just a couple years ago. Kelsie and Jaryd were working on something for quite a while and I had no idea what it might be, but they worked on it in secret, then Dave helped them with a little bit of it. When they gave it to me I couldn't believe what they had done.

They had me close my eyes and when I opened them there was a whole manger scene that they had drawn, painted and cut out of pieces of cardboard and matting. The whole thing is free standing and looks great in front of our fireplace.

Of the non-home made variety it would have to be the 3 ft. tall stuffed

My favorites are all the ones they made when they were younger.

I have lots of handmade Christmas decorations around the house from my kids' younger years, but not too many ornaments made by them. Whatever I have, though, goes on the tree. One is a flower-shaped ornament w/ a photo of my DD in the center from her days as a Daisy (Girl Scout) back in first grade (I think). I've also given each of my kids a small ornament of their own at Christmas every year, so it's fun to put those on the tree and remember why I chose them. My favorite decoration, though, has to be a small artificial tree I put in my kitchen. It's decorated w/ little copper kitchen ornaments (tea kettles, colanders, pots, etc.), plus some little gingerbread "cookies" and tiny oven mitts, and little apples. I probably get the most joy out of looking at that tree!

I have to tell you that when I first saw your title, I thought you were asking if we had a favorite child!! Haha

We have a few favorite ornaments. One in particular is an ornament that dd18's kindergarten teacher made her (and all the other students she's ever had). She takes a halved walnut and puts a dab of cotton in it, glued,

Heartsandroses, I just have to tell you that I collect mooses too. I never knew anyone else who collected them, but I don't have any on my Christmas tree! =( Also, good point about the "baby's first Christmas" ornaments. I have one of those for each of my kids and those are very special to us too.
