Do you have a favorite ornament or holiday decoration?

We have so many wonderful things that it is hard to pick one favorite. I love all the little things the kids have made over the years, but I guess my favorite would be from just a couple years ago. Kelsie and Jaryd were working on something for quite a while and I had no idea what it might be, but they worked on it in secret, then Dave helped them with a little bit of it. When they gave it to me I couldn't believe what they had done.

They had me close my eyes and when I opened them there was a whole manger scene that they had drawn, painted and cut out of pieces of cardboard and matting. The whole thing is free standing and looks great in front of our fireplace.

Of the non-home made variety it would have to be the 3 ft. tall stuffed

I was wondering where you got the ornaments!

Julie, I didn't specify that the little copper ornaments were from Lillian Vernon (a few years ago), and maybe the little apples too. The others are ones I've collected here and there since I started my kitchen tree. Good luck. It should look really good in your kitchen--especially since you're such a baker! Maybe focus on baking ornaments!

It's late I'm feeling pretty goofy, and I couldn't resist...

If the plural of goose is geese...wouldn't the plural of moose be meese???

ROFL---ok, I'm going to bed now.

Wow. I had no idea you could go on moose safaris! I love Maine, but we only go to the coastal areas and I don't think there are too many moose around there. You are way, way ahead of me in your collection! I need to catch up! I don't know what appeals to me about mooses (meese??) either. I think it's that they're so big and ungainly-looking, yet they look like they have a sense of humor. LOL.

Haha, mjaye - my dad used to call mice, meese, instead. Hahaha ~ Thanks for reminding me of that nice memory.

The area where we saw our moose was way up northern Maine, a wee bit inland, mountainous but also near swampy areas, which is where we spotted ours!

I bet if you do an online search you could find information for a safari nearby your vaca place.

As in "I hate meeses to pieces"?? What cartoon did that come from? It rings a bell, but it's from a long time ago!

I googled it and it came from Pixie and Dixie (and Mr. Jinx).
