Do you wear same brands as your teen?

Recently I took my daughter/13 to American Eagle to return a Christmas gift and while in there, I fell in love with a hoody that was on a sale rack and happened to be my size, so on impulse I got it. I had never bought anything in there before. Yesterday daughter comes home and tells me one of her friends wore the same thing to school that day. Yikes! I'm dressing like a middle schooler! Am I completely uncool? Now I'm kind of hesitant to be seen in it.

Beginning last fall, DD has been borrowing a lot of my wool sweaters.

I think it's weird....

Sometimes! If something fits me well, flatters my shape, feels comfortable, and doesn't look ridiculous on a woman of my age, then I will buy it and wear it. I wear those little cover-up hoodies that you buy at GAP and Old Navy all the time. I have three of them! I love GAP jeans - or at least I used to until I found JeanStar jeans - they flatter my womanly shape better. Haha.

We often buy the same pj sets, socks, panties, shoes, etc. We all wear thong undies.

20dd and I have the same jacket - hers is brown and mine is black. She wears hers without the hood, I like my hood for windy days.

I see nothing wrong with wearing similar clothes to your teens as long as A) you don't look like an old lady trying to look 19, B) they fit correctly and drape nicely and are flattering to your shape, and C) your kids don't mind.

My dds' are always trying to get me to wear some things that I would never been seen in! I typically choose clothing that is dress casual so I can wear it both at home or at work. And then I have a few pieces that are strictly for home or work.

DD and I don't wear the same size, but sometimes when she and I are shopping, if I find something that I like in one of "her" stores that looks good on me and not too high school, I'll buy it.

Your DD's wearing your sweaters isn't weird....

There's a hand-me-down sweater I got from my sister's SO, probably 20 years ago, that I always receive compliments on when I wear it. It's the long, wrap type acrylic sweater with a knit belt; a big bold, brown, black and offwhite print. It's gotta date back to at least the 80s.
