My daughter Morgan is 14 and just started High School (grade 9). She's feeling really overwhelmed right now - she's always been a straight A student but I think it came fairly easily - suddenly she's feeling very young and little - the classes are 80 minutes long instead of 40, the teachers aren't quite as warm and nurturing, and the work feels harder. Here's what she has going on: Her band has been invited to China next March. It's quite an honour to be one of the ones chosen, and I think it is a fantastic opportunity, but it IS going to cost nearly $4000. We told her if she wanted to go she had to get a job. She's working at the grocery store bakery, she works 2 or 3

You told her she needed to pay for the trip and she's living up to her end of the bargain, I wouldn't go back on that

My DD didn't have trouble adjusting to high school but in the beginning of her senior year, she was really overwhelmed.

I think you and Morgan should go for ice cream.
