Dd is a freshman this year in college, and we dropped her off on Thursday.  She was a mess for days, to the point where I actually had to tell her to put her big girl panties on and get to work.  She had a great room, a suite for 4 with only 2 girls in it for now!!  She is loving it now that she is there.  Daddy had a harder time with this, me, I was fine.  I was a mess with Kindergarden.  This was not so bad. We loved her roommate.  She called a few times and is a great mood and gets along great with her roommate.  She called this morning on her way to church, going on about all her new friends!!

She is two and half hours away, so not every weekend, but she can come home now and then. She has traveled most every summer for weeks a time, so I don't think she will be too homesick.

That is awesome that she is loving it there. I have a feeling my sons will react the same way- be a mess beforehand and then totally fine once they are there. How far away is she? Close enough to visit on weekends?

<<<She called this morning on her way to church, going on about all her new friends!!>>> That's what you want to hear. You & dh, you'll get over it. Sometimes the kids don't. Good to hear it sounds like she's settling in, and getting over her homesickness. Congrats to her. But don't change out that room just yet!
