Making him responsible for whatever $$ he blows away frivolously (including the class that he dropped) might be the only way to get him to grow up and take responsibility for his actions.

Conmama, this is a valid point regarding education! My dh has a Masters, and I went back to school when my children were older and all three were there to watch me walk across the stage, since they were babies the first time around.

That is so true. I was ready when I was older and had already started my family as well. I think Fullmom made a valid point in her post, her ds is a good person, loving etc. This is also my oldest ds, however his first semester didn't go well at all. We have had to tell him that we simply will not pay/cannot afford to pay
