My daughter is motivated but she isn't very well organized!!! She also is one of those kids who wants to have input and assistance and to talk things through. And we usually spend at least one day on the *how do I study for this* conversation.

But even with all that stressing out my daughter is an honour roll student -- top grades. I just find that she is such a procrastinator. The biggest projects are left to the last minute. Then we are scrambling for printer ink or a poster board or some additional materials.

Her finals aren't until end of June but right now there are alot of end-of-semester projects and assignments. And she is in an arts program that has a big year end show as part on which all the students are graded. So there are rehearsals now every night for the next 10 days which means even less time for her to get the work she's put off completed.

Oh! And of course the nice weather and summer movie blockbuster season isn't helping either! She has projects she's put off, rehearsals, finals to think about but she also wants to go the amusement park on the weekend and with her friends to the movies to see all the huge shows coming out!!! So finals time for me is most frustrating because she just leaves everything to the very last minute...

Ugh...finals are coming up. I have to push Everett the hardest because he is lazy. He does not believe in doing homework because he says that he does not need it. In a way it is true because he can sit in class and not really do anything and still do well on a test, but he needs to learn good study habits for the future. I have to baby him when it comes to homework and study and make sure that he actually studies at least a little bit.

Brooklyn studies hard, but she tends to procrastinate like her older brother Jacob did. Her chemistry midterm is this friday and if I don't push her she will start looking at the review packet tomorrow. Science is not her strong point. Thankfully because of AP's her other 2 classes are pretty much done and computers is a piece of cake.

They are so different from my oldest son, Gavin, who used to just go into his room before the test and study his brains out until he knew all of the information like the back of his hand. Sure he was a little short tempered, but he always made the A and afterwards headed straight for the beach or whats not.

It would actually be better if he wasn't such a nice kid because nobody believes the stuff that we tell them that he does.........plus they can't imagine the stress of living with not knowing what surprises we are going to get on classroll (where his grades are online....and we check every day).

I seriously believe my ds being a basically good kid that most teachers like (in other words, not a behaviour problem) has prevented him from getting the help that he needed!

If you don't have an IEP you are on your own. Funny, there are a lot of kids who have a slight learning impairment but not great enough to warrant an iep. They are left on their own.

Have you called the teacher? I'm ashamed to admit, I didn't realize that there was a webpage with ALL the homework assignments listed..wonderful job the teacher did to inform the kids and I was unaware (new school). Now that I am aware of the homework, I can insist on checking to see if it is complete. Wish I knew this earlier since handing in homework late is an issue in my house.

I don't wish an unmotivated teen on anyone! I alternate between hope and despair on a daily basis.

Only the Honors Chemistry and the Honors Algebra II teachers have websites.
