Dear Sunny,

Unfortunately at this time of your childs scholastic carrier you can not force them to do anything. and if you really stay on them the will probably just resist.Has your dd visited any of these schools? Sometimes they think they will fit in and indeed they get there and don't for one reason or the other. Some children(they really still are) fit in better with a big campus, others a small one. Does the university offer the classes

If your DD really truly wants to go to boarding school, then she will do these applications and essays without a ton of prodding from you.

She is the one that "desparately wants to go."

She has to write the essays. It's part of the evaluation process. If her essays are not good enough for a particular school, it's it better that she not attend that school?
If she truly wants to go to the boarding school then she will work on her essays.

My DD applied to two universities, both she got into with no problems. My DS will be (they apply here only in December) to 4 universities.
