My friend just showed me the statistic that the highest rate of abductions are girls between 13 and 20--I guess because they are getting attractive, but worse the study says becuz the parents are giving them freedom, naturally.

My DD has been going to the mall 50 miles away from us with a friend since she was 14.

LOL - You had me worried for a second Rose. I missed the "bff" and thought you'd sent your daughter and her BOYfriend on a 4 week cross country trip. I was thinking "wow, I'm not quite that liberal!". (once I figured it out I thought it was pretty cool! What an exciting experience for those two girs!)

My kids have gone to our mall by themselves since they were probably 14.

The issue with relying on things like tv reports and news stories is that journalists or reporters will choose an angle to a story, interview a few people and then write their story towards that particular angle.
