Help with 18 year old son and motivation.

My son is 18 years old he is a senior in High school and lacks motivation.

But all those people you mentioned were motivated! College is not for everyone, that is for sure!! Many of the world's most successful people think outside of the box, that is why they make it. If he wants to do an e-business, be sure he has a business plan, and treats it like his job.

I agree - if this is his passion, who's to say he won't flourish doing it? Maybe gently suggest he eventually take a business class at the CC later if it might help his savvy in doing this job, and see how it goes over time.

You sound a lot like me a year ago..My son was a lot like that. He was 17 as a senior though...once he graduated he really changed his attitude..I think that was a wake up call for him..over the summer he enrolled himself in our local community college and is doing good...he isnt working but he has financial aid and is enrolled in school full time. I really think that kids ..boys spefically mature at different stages..just because they turn 18 doens't mean it clicks with them to be adult like..also I really think at that age ..whether they want to admit it or not...they are afraid to go out in the real world and grow up....i don't have any magic words of advice...just wanted to share my story -)
