Hopefully I'll get some quick advice today.
Nothing in your posts makes me change my mind.
Good to 'see' you jakesmom. Sorry to hear about your son but that's great that he's getting treatment. Did he seek treatment willingly or did you have to 'force' it? Either way hopefully he's getting the help he needs and can get on with a healthy, sober life. He's young and has so much ahead of him!
Yes, the pills could be anything, but as a mom of an almost 18 year old son who is currently seeking treatment for drug addiction, it is better to be on the safe side. My son has taken just about everything and they don't have to be prescription meds in order to get high. My son has taken Mucinex, Benadryl and over the counter sleeping pills and is currently getting help because he also huffs duster. We knew about the the large number of pills, but the huffing was found out after he was found passed out in a field across from the school. Please take the pills you found very very serious! They will tell you they belong to someone else, or they only did it one time, or they are not doing it anymore! Also, sometimes it is difficult to find treatment, to find someone who thinks your child has an actual issue, if this is the case, keep pressing until you find help. This was the case for our family,
I just need some time away from it. I just don't have it in me to fight right now. I know that sounds terrible.
I also don't have any briliant advice, because I've never been through this, but it never even crossed my mind that what you wrote sounded terrible. I've marveled at your patience actually, and how well you've handled things. The reason I generally don't offer advice is that you're already handling it better than I think I could. You are a really awesome mom. Sometimes they just can't get help until they are ready to be helped, no matter what you do.
Take care of yourself, as much as you can-
He's a puggle - a pug/beagle mix.
I really had no advice to add to this because I've never been in this kind of situation before, but I just wanted to say that I don't think you're terrible to just not want to deal w/ it all.
