Even some at David's--yes, DAVIDS--made my head spin...
So, I'm wondering, where the heck are the parents, when their kids are walking out the door?

Not happening in our house!
I am glad that the schools are stepping up.
I so hear you on the issue of body type.
I agree, so much of how a dress looks is in the wearer's figure. Dresses that look obscene on one girl look fine on another. These dresses are all on models who were chosen because they would be sexy looking in them and then of course, were encouraged to unnaturally stick those legs out of slits as far as they could go lol. Certainly, some are plain skanky but there are few others that wouldn't look as scandalous on a more normal body type with a more innocent attitude. Personally, I like the david bridal one that is chiffon and sort of multi-colored. If you look at it, it's finger tip length which isn't "short short." The skirt is flowy as opposed to tight. It's strapless but it's not advertising boobs. I could see it looking quite reasonable on my "Twiggy" shaped DD. Of course, that's easy for me to say because she wouldn't pick it. She likes dresses she can feel comfortable actually dancing which generally means straps and not too short that they flip up when she's jumping around.
Our schools already have rules in place that keeps girls away from these sorts of dresses.
Heck no. Those dresses aren't even pretty. They're more about being naked. I agree with Ekmama's assessment that "pretty" no longer means pretty, but sexy or hot.
I was reading an interview w/ Sofia Vergara (from Modern Family).

I dont see anything that wrong with these dresses....they cover alot more than a bikini.
