Homecoming 2005

Well, after a few minor bumps Homecoming seemed to be a success. I don't have the full plan with ivillage, so I can't post pictures, but if anyone would like to see the pics you can go to:

http://www.jchomecoming.blogspot.com/

(edited:--I had the address wrong earlier)

Mine is the one in the 'taupe' suit jacket or white shirt----and his date is the one in the white dress.

Unfortunately, the photos aren't the best----my hubby is an awesome photographer, but with 6 sets of parents taking photos, he didn't get the best angles-----also sorry that all the candid shots are there, too, but since I don't have the ivilllage stuff to just post a couple, you'll have to scroll thru to see the posed pics.........but his captions are pretty cute.............

anyway, if anybody would like to see, feel free.

Thanks, Tobylady----aren't they cute acting all grownup? In so many ways, they are such little kids----but they looked nice, and are all nice kids----so it was a successful evening....

I had a little trouble getting to the pics earlier this morning, but it works fine now.

Great pictures and a great looking group of kids! It looks like they were all ready to go and have a good time. Your DS' suit looks great -- how did your his date like the flowers you delivered? Thanks for sharing ...

P.S. I am supremely jealous of your lovely, big green lawn ... I have a tiny PLOT of grass out here in the west.

Julie, not my lawn----that is the home of one of the boys in the photos. We have a large yard as well, but not THAT large---it is much more narrow, but quite long..........our house is much smaller that that one as well-----but thanks for thinking it was mine! haha

I guess she liked them--I asked Tanner and he said she was pleased, he said he was pleased, and I was pleased that they weren't nearly as expensive as a florist! I occasionally go out and 'snoop' on the web pages these kids keep-----I promise, I have yet to have a problem with what they say-----I just want to make sure there is no illegal or dangerous activity happening with MY kid........but anyway, another girl entirely made the comment that Tanner (my son) is her hero because he sent his date flowers for homecoming......so it apparently went over well with OTHER girls at least.............

So far, the comments from work have been how lovely the girl in green is----I personally LOVED, LOVED, LOVED her dress (probably since I could have never worn it considering my size)....nobody else likes the green, though---I think it is gorgeous! The suit jacket came off as soon as pictures were over (see, nobody else was wearing a jacket-------hence the few 'bumps' mentioned in my first post)----but the second hand suit was still WAY cheaper than even a cheap pair of pants would have been.........my niece thought my son should have taken the girl in green----like I have any control over that---all the girls were cute---I personally find the girl that my son took to be quite lovely as well----her dark hair is beautiful!

he was home shortly after midnight---and all is well----they ate mexican food, and went to the dance, and went to an 'after' party----parents all chauffered (sp?) and it seemed to be a success. The parents taking pics had fun too-----we are all living vicariously thru our kids, I guess. Oh, by the way, I'm the one in a pink shirt and jean shorts---heavyset w/ light brown hair------not that any of the pics really 'show' me, but just in case anybody is interested.............

Thanks for the interest------I certainly like to show off my kids, so thanks for looking!

Oh, my bad! I forgot to mention that I thought your DS' date was very lovely and that they made a very attractive couple. I agree her dark curly hair is striking. That green dress??? That was just about the color of the dress I wore to my jr. prom in high school. My dates' tux was green also -- all that matchy, matchy stuff that went on in the '70s. We were the only couple in that color that night .. and it's the color of my bedroom walls, too. Guess I like green more than I realized!

Sounds like the evening went well -- glad everyone had a fun -- and safe -- time.

Have a great day!

The pictures were lovely - what a great looking group of kids! And maybe I'm a little prejudiced, because my own dd has lovely dark hair but I thought your ds' date was the prettiest of them all - even though they were all quite lovely.

And how is it decided, by the way, which home is the one where the pictures will be taken, etc.?
