Has anyone else had the expierence of chaperoning at their son's/daughter's homecoming dance and being completely apalled at the dancing that was going on? My son is a freshman in high school this year and so I thought it would be fun to volunteer at his homeconing dance. We never had homecoming at my high school and I wanted to see what it was all about. Well when i got there the instructions we were given were that there was to be no inappropriate placement of boys hands on girls but not really clarified what that meant or kissing. Well when the kids got there it proceded to be an all out gyrating fest - the boys and girls dance with the girl in front of the boy, he has his hands on her legs and alot of them all the way up to their crotch on top of their dresses and she basically sticks her butt gyarating her butt into the boys crotch bent over with her hands on her knees or sometimes all the way on the floor. It almost looked like they were having sex from behind with their clothes on. I was so uncomfortable - no was saying anything not even the teachers and principals who had given us the instructions. So I cannot really complain to the principal cause he was there. I guess I could go to the superintendent but I don't know how i would do this and remain anyomous. Any others have expierence with this. I have decided that I should not chaperone again because I don't really feel comfortable being the only one to reprimand kids. I would love to know if this dancing is going on at others high schools!

I haven't been to any of the dances at my kids school. There are teachers and principals who chaperone, but no parents.
When my kids had moving up from middle school they had a celebration which was really a dance, they just call it a celebration, because our district doesn't allow middle school dances. Crazy, but true. The dancing wasn't too bad at the celebration, only
