Homework For Parents?

In an effort to get parents more involved in their children’s education, a high school English teacher in New Jersey is asking his students’ parents to complete weekly homework assignments. Some parents seemed happy to revisit their high school years, others were more resistant. What do you think? Is this is a good idea? Would you be willing to do homework for your child’s class?

All I could think about when reading the posts in this thread was Rodney Dangerfield's movie, "Back To School." I write do morning pages every morning (that's three full size notebook pages of train of thought writing), continually write chapters for my book on parenting, write ezine articles, write postings to these forums and end the day writing in my journal. I'll be darned if I am going to placate some half-baked idea of a newbie teacher. I was so involved when my kids were in school that the school wished a wasn't so involved. I did not need to get a feel for what the kids were going through. Been there, done that, paid my dues! Count me in the "not only no, but hell no" category.
