I’m just sitting here late at night getting my taxes ready for the accountants tomorrow.....minding my own business.....having a cup of tea.....feeling grumpy for sending too much money to Uncle Sam...
When I come across the CD title that weenie boy was playing in his car when he drove DD and a friend to a ski park a few weeks ago.
So.....this is sort of an unusual title to a song.....and taxes are pretty boring..... so I decide to enter this song into a lyrics search.

gee.....I don’t even know where to begin..
The moron who wrote this apparently is considered an “artist.”
The idiots who played this apparently are considered “musicians.”
Weenie boy really knows how to sweep a girl off her feet with this stuff.
How romantic...
I am so livid right now I must stop typing.

ROFL Daddioe, aside from being profane and vile, those are probably the STUPIDEST lyrics I have read in a long time. Honestly, between us ladies (and you, daddioe) around here, what is it with these rapper guys and their out of control sexual fantasies? I have SEEN this guy on TV and in pictures and he is hardly an attractive enough man to have so many "escapades" to speak of ...
I don't mind the odd sexual innuendo in lyrics or a swear word here and there -- I'm not a prude and I like a good dance beat as much as the next guy but this is just plain disgusting....

LOL. After having to force myself to actually make it all the way thru the lyrics, I must admit I did snicker when I read the line about the Girl from Hollywood. I believe it was a "girl" who was actually a man in drag. All I could think of was "Serves him right..."
>>If teens' level of acceptance keeps going the way it is how will things be in 20 years?
This type of music is disgusting, isn't it? I was watching Oprah the other morning and she was talking about how the rest of the world bases their views of USA blacks according to what they hear from these types of lyrics. Obviously, Oprah was unhappy since this music portrays blacks in an extremely negative manner.
Dadddioe, have you exposed your DD to some of the older music, such as the stuff we used to listen to? In addition to listening to awful music like afroman's, my DS also likes Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin and other artists of that time period. It's funny because I used to think those artists were hard core but in comparison, they are quite soft. It's funny because my kids actually complained that there aren't any good artists like there used to be in my time. They are hoping someone will start playing "good music" like that once again and that the public will realize that Rap is awful.

Don't forget Pink Floyd!
Anyway, these are my recommendations:
Indie Rock: Modest Mouse*, Bright Eyes, Broken Social Scene, Wolf Parade*, The Animal Collective, The Decemberists, Spoon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Radiohead*, Death Cab for Cutie, Deer Hoof, Belle and Sebastian, Murder By Death, Minus the Bear, The Pixies, The New Pornographers
Punk Rock: The Ramones, Rancid*, Anti-Flag, The Bouncing Souls, Flogging Molly
Grunge Rock: Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana
Metal/Hardcore: As I Lay Dying, Children of Bodom*, Slayer, Pantera, Hatebreed, Primus, Tool, Atreyu
Ok.. I was hoping at my age, I'd have most of this figured out. What a joke.
Not a chance... Not even close.... Even though this is my third time in the trenches of teendom, I'm such a newbie work in process, sometimes it's frightening.
After re-reading kories posts, other posts, and talking to DD (again and again), I may have over-reacted just a tad...
Nothing's going to change the fact that this stuff makes me puke.
My big fear and alarm was that DD was not offended by this. By God, I wanted her offended! I wanted her outraged!
Well..DD got the analogy allright, but she told me it was "misplaced."
huh?
She understands the danger of rationalizing words and symbols into their mere form while discounting their meaning or intent. (She worded it a bit cruder) (ok.. so far)
But she see's these lyrics as "really funny." (ok.. not so good)
She said she can "understand this is really offensive, but it's a stupid guy fantasy about his abilities." (this sounds similar to other posts). "That's what makes it funny. He's a pathetic loser." (at this point, I'm looking like a deer in the headlights)
Then she says, "This stuff is gross. It's not like I even buy this or make a habit of listening to it."
So basically it boils down to me pontificating about objectifying women as nothing more than some place to stick it, and she was laughing about a guy with a pathetic sexual fantasy.
(groan)...How is it that this even comes up at 15? And why does a 15 yr old know about such things? Those are rhetorical questions, but feel free to respond. I need all the help I can get.....
>>How is it that this even comes up at 15? And why does a 15 yr old know about such things?<<
I suppose a better rhetorical question would be, when did you want these things to come up? Wouldn't you rather they come up now, when dad can still give his input?
<>
Well...I'd rather they not come up at all...
So much for what I want... :-)
For better or worse, I was not part of that world of the 60's / 70's you describe.
If I had, maybe I'd have a better perspective on these issues. While my peers were protesting the Vietnam war and taking an assortment of drugs, I was in prep school with hair above my ears, and the youngest member of a touring symphony orchastra...:-)LOL..
We didn't play Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd but I do like some of the classic rock...
