I briefly mentioned in my response to schwanny below that Jason has been struggling with an eating disorder of his own.

Thanks to all of your for your kind words.
OH Pam, you have them from me - what a tough thing for you and Jason to be going through!! It sounds like he's on the right track now, and you're giving him lots of support to get through it.
Hang in there!!
Sue
Not sure what P&PT is, but just wanted to offer support and encouragement for what you're going through. This disorder seems to be everywhere and as you point out, just as prevalent for boys. I hope Jason gets good help. I know with parents such as you, he'll get through this. Hang in there!

oh no pam!! huge hugs and prayers sent straight to you and ds. I truly hope that you can get hime the help that he needs, that he will have the strength to do what he needs to do to recover.
you have always been such a source of strength and inspiration and support to me, and to everyone else on this board. I am so sorry that you are suffering right now and wish that I could do something to help you.
So sorry you are going through this - you're right in that it is not just a teenage girl problem. I have also heard that over achievers seem to be in the majority with this disease, and it does seem as though your ds fits in that category. I hope he agrees to therapy. Good luck and God bless.
Pam, I haven't been on here since last summer! I will keep your son in my prayers. I know how hard it is. I'm struggling with some real-life issues with our almost 17 year old. It's so hard!

Thanks, Pam! What I've learned from all this is how important it is that we are aware of what's going on in our teens' lives. I've been talking to older parents who've already gone through the teens stuff. Their advice is always, "Pay attention. Don't let things slide. Get in their face." That is what I'm doing, although it's hard. Good luck to you, and all of us with teens!!!
