More teenage girl drama...dd15's best friend says her dad won't let her see my dd.

This is indeed a tough situation. I'm not sure I'd know what to do either. I think I'd probably lean towards staying out of it and waiting for things to settle down on their own. I'll bet this girl's father will eventually realize that he overreacted. But it brings up the point again that we parents shouldn't be reading our kids' IMs or text messages unless we're prepared to see some things we don't like!

I hope your dd learned a lesson about what is private, etc... I would stay out of it. I jsut don't see how you pleading for your dd will change his mind. Perhaps if you helped your dd come up with a way to apologize to the dad, that may be helpful. I tell my kids to warn their friends, anything coming to my house, any phones I pay for, etc... are subject to my review!

Oh believe me, I think she's learned a powerful lesson that all the warnings in the world couldn't teach her.

Marie - this is a tough one. I would hope that after a little while the dad will cool down a little. If this was a dad I was comfortable talking to, I might talk to him about how D feels so bad, and she wants to apologize. Also, if he does know something you don't know it could be a good connection.
