Ok, maybe just MY kids and the strays they bring here! GEEZ! Never let your kids know if you know how to "birth" things or feed babies. I'm on my 3rd day with a *maybe* 3 week old obviously UNweaned kitten. At least it pooped by itself last night without me having to rub its little "stuff" with a warm rag (like mommy cat's tongue ya know), but it's no where near eating instead of sucking and DD can't get the hang of not choking it while deep throating the medicine syringe. This used to be sort of common when she was at home all day (homeschool till Middle School), but THEN I had the equipment, the cans of kitten formula that can be used for all sorts of tiny critters and the bottles and nipples. Naturally the person that said he wants it is stalling on coming to get it. At least it slept through the first 2 nights, I know I should be getting up every 2 or 3 hours with it but stairs are a problem for me, so once I go up I'm NOT coming down unless I need the bathroom! Oldest DD brought it here because her DH's hunting dogs would kill it. Someone had left a box with 4 at the end of their lane and a neighbor had picked them up out of the road. She hadn't known that when she found this one staggering around in her yard crying and the dogs having fits. She thought it had a feral mama somewhere close (though why she'd think a feral cat would have kittens so near the dogs, I don't know) OR someone had dumped it there because it's sort of remote.
Sorry, just a rant. Actually I already have 2 adult former strays and a water turtle that some people couldn't handle any more because it was too aggressive with their other turtles (they said) so I don't need, can't afford care for another. I just fed it for the
