I hope I don't....

Get kicked of the boards for this, and I guess if you never see me posting again, that is what happened, but I really have to say that I am so sad at what I think is going on on this board.

I stand with you, Julie.

I think things have gotten "stilted" (???) lately.

Completely agree with you all.

I love this group - and will be sad if a few recent events have a long term impact. I hope this will blow over, and we'll get back to our comfort zone.

I did email iVillage, but have not received a reply.

BTW, the CMs are right about one thing - "ignore posts" feels good! It makes the long threads a little choppy, but much easier to take.

I guess I am missing the connection but then I haven't gotten any emails :)

I think several different things happened at one time. No?

Awareness of how public the board is. Concerns about gnomes. And I think we have a more conservative group of parents right now.

I agree it's different but I think it's a combination of things and it will eventually shift-maybe better, maybe worse

What?

People are loosing me. I am missing something.
Awareness that this is a public board? That's a given. People post what they want.
Trolls? Ignore them.
Different opinions? Well, such is life. Life would be boring if everyone thought the same.

So, I guess I am out of the loop.....

I would add "joyless" to stilted. Also, Daddioe, you bring up a good point about that particular thread. I think many of us have become so cautious about any new posters, that it has made for a very stilted atmosphere. And when we don't get support from the powers that be, but instead have our very civil threads (where we are trying to work things out) summarily shut down, it makes us even more reluctant to post.

I wonder if there are just times of the year, maybe, when things are just a bit more tense for all of us.
