Perhaps that is why he is supposed to come into your lives as it seems as though he gets little guidance at home.

It really isn't the clothes that bother me, like someone said it was just another thing to annoy me. I know he doesn't mean to annoy me, but there are just so many things that are red flags with this kid. Here are the major ones

dropped out of school
smokes
has been in trouble with the law
has a restraining order against him not to even go on someones street, so what does he do he has me drive him down that street and points out the persons home
works in jobs that are illegal in NY to work at until you are at least 18 (tree service, construction and now is plowing, but doesn't even have his permit yet? claims to have some kind of thing from the company that says he can plow and drive to the places to plow? Sure!)
just turned 17 in early November and has a 5 month old dd who he says on his My Space he isn't allowed to see, but the other day he was having an argument on the phone with the mom, she says that he never comes to see his dd and he says every time he does she kicks him out of the house. Now is he allowed to see her or not?
Claims that he quit school to support the baby, but that the mom won't take any money from him.

Now who wants their 17 yo dd to get involved in a relationship like this? Just too much baggage if you ask me. Now do you see why the clothes were just another thing that got to me.

And they weren't the style that is suppose to look that way.

Yes she had a fun time, actually he said that this dance was the most fun dance he'd ever been to and that he'd never danced at a dance before, but did at this one. After the dance we picked them up and took them to go to moonlight bowling. Dave picked them up afterward and took them all home. She had a great time.

In fact he will be here anytime now and will be staying for dinner. So we will have the chance to get his take on the dance and all.

We have talked about what she sees in him and she says that he is very sweet with her.

I think the best case scenario here would be that they remain friends and that your DD (and your family) are a positive light in this boys life. He has created a huge burden for himself at a very young age. How unfortunate.

I don't know Kristie - this kid does have a lot of baggage and red flags, but it sounds like his heart is in the right place.
