How is your daughter? Is she going to continue cheering?

Madison does not do cheer but she does do pointe ballet, and believe it or not that take a toll on the body. Stress fractures, tendinitus, blisters, bruises, knee aches, and several other injuries. Luckily, knock on wood, she has not been hurt too badly over the years, but she has been in some serious pain from it.

I hope your daughter is doing well.

The visit w/ the sports doc was pretty promising. She has a screwy back which was totally out of whack, which I guess was pressuring the nerves. She didn't have any new fractures. He manipulated her back and it looked pretty excruciating. DD said afterwards her back felt amazingly better. She actually ended up going to gymnastics last night. Of course she was paranoid about her back and kept freezing up doing the back handspring without a spot.

I'm happy for N that she is enjoying it so much. DD has an issue with her knee as well. Actually, last night after gymnastics that was the one body part she said ached. I asked her why she didn't wear her knee brace and she said it makes it worse. Not sure how. She always wears it for flying, but hates wearing it for running or tumbling. LOL she also has an ankle brace. The child is going to be a walking brace before too long!!

I'm glad she got good news at the docs!

I can't believe your daughter wont wear a knee brace for that reason! I tell my kids that I wont be sympathetic if they injury themselves more for not doing what the doctor perscribes. My husband is worse since he actually is a doctor.

I am glad that your daughter was cleared. I hope she does not get any more major injuries. Carlin is a cheerleader and this is her second year on Varsity. She has been cheering since she was like 7 though. She wears a knee brace because it bothers her a lot, it was worse when she was growing. I worry for her kidneys. She has consumed so much ibuprofen over the years for aches and pains.
