Okay, the following is a recipe that was my grandmother's from Poland. I received it from my Aunt at my dad's funeral back in 1991, many many years after my grandmother had passed away. I only met the woman twice.
Cinnamon Nut Twirls
*Grease two cookie sheets
You will need:
1LB Margarine (DO NOT use butter or vegetable shortening)
4 Eggs
6 Tbs Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla

4 C Flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1/4 C water
1 package of dry yeast
~~~~~~~~~
1 1/2 C crushed/chopped walnuts
1 1/2 C Sugar
1 Tbs Ground Cinnamon

My mom has a cookbook that she has typed up all the recipes she uses (or copies them) and puts them in a spiral notebook.

You've inspired me! I'm going to get this project rolling. I especially like your idea of having the contributor provide a little narrative of the recipie. (origin, etc.).
Back in San Diego, a local scrapbooking store actually held a class for just this thing!
I'm still trying to get the hang of this board, even after all these posts.
