Ipod home and gifts?

First, I have to thank Coldfingers for sharing her story of getting her teens Ipod back. Sharing this motivated my 19 yr old to contact the police about getting his back from the evidence department there. He finally got it back(he was a HS senior, now a college soph)although it sounds like he couldnt have gotten it much earlier because it was still an open case!!

Anyway, he wants to be able to set it in speakers to listen to music while in his room. I remember some talking about Ipod homes but have also seem some other contraptions?

Any BTDT advice on what works best?

Also, DS2 has only made 2 requests-this and a hand vac(see, they DO grow up)And since he has a Dec birthday and Xmas coming.....

I noticed one mom gave small necessities and cash.

Do you give cash? Gift cards? As much as I miss the ole days of little ones and wrapping paper, I am seeing that this might be the best way to go

And those of you who also have 20 somethings...what do you do? Has it changed?

The iHome is great; it charges the iPod while it's docked there, and the speakers are plenty loud for a bedroom.

Oh, THAT is sooo cool.

There is a fencing place here and, back in the ninja days(age 12/13)both the older boys had talked of it. I see they have gift certificates and I wonder. The oldest is just sooo busy with work and school I worry he wouldnt take the time or the GF would say "You are going to leave tonight to do WHAT?" :)

I don't remember who the original poster was, so I am posting this to ALL. Can you believe I can't remember something so small. Yikes, this memory is sooooo bad.

Anyway, last Christmas brought a iHome for each of the kids and this year we will be having one for the bathroom. We need a radio/clock in there and dd is always bringing her iHome in so she can listen to "her" music during those long showers. So dh had the great idea of getting one for the family for Christmas.

As you can see, we love the iHome. It works great, and no more commercials from the radio!

DD-12 got an iHome last Christmas, it's great...she uses it to wake up for school, the sound quality is great, it's nice looking, and it has a remote control! I think they have all sorts of accessories for iPods and MP3 players. My son has an MP3, he has these little portable speakers that fold up and go right into his backpack...

I've also seen some new table top hand vacs on TV, kinda cool looking!

I've given my oldest cash, gift cards (for gas and BestBuy) and stuff to open; T-shirts, sleep pants, CD's, like that...my niece and nephew are older, 22 and 25, last year I gave them each a $50 Amex gift card...not doing that this year. #1, can't afford it, #2, never got a thank you! Yikes!
