Irregular periods?

I guess there's not a teen health board?
I have a daughter who got her period this year skipped it for 2 months, just had it at Thanksgiving, normal 7 day period and now just got it again yesterday. I can't remember from when I was a teen and noone I know has teen daughters. Does this sound normal to you? I can't go by me because I didn't have periods for so long due to Depo and then I got off it and had a baby this past Spring I don't know what my normal schedule is amy more.
Thanks in advance!
T

Hi, First of all, how old is your daughter? If she is young and just started getting periods, it takes a while till they are regular. I have a 19 year old who started to menstrate when she was 11, yeah, she is in a for a long haul. She would skip months a lot at first, not really regular till around 14.
This is just my experience talking, I am not a medical professional. But if you don't see anything abnormal, they always ask about pain and heavy bleeding, I would say it is just her body adjusting. If any of those occur, I would take her to a gynocologist. My daughter did have horrible cramps, missing school and causing her to be incapacitated at around 14, so I took her to my doctor, they ran tests and fortunately nothing was wrong.
Oh I don't know if your daughter has PMS yet, but just wait, it gets better and better hhahahaha.
Hang in there,
Andie
She's 12 but she'll be 13 in two weeks which is why I figured I may as well post here not on the Tweens board. I may as well face up to the fact that I'm the mother to a teenager. (groans)
Yes, she just started so I figured it might just be that her body needs time to adjust. I just couldn't remember if I was that way or not, it's been a long, long time. ;)
Thanks!
Oh and yes, she has a little PMS already so it's already a joy around here. ;)
Yes, Congratulations, you are the proud owner of a teenage daughter!!! And she sounds perfectly normal.
It is quite a ride, but no better feeling in the world watching them become young women.
I'm sure you will see that for all the trials, there will be times you will be absolutely swelled with pride. They truely are amazing little creatures hahaha.
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Andie
God Bless You, an infant and a teen, you will be nominated for sainthood. My 16yo DD cycles have never been regular for the past 3 years, MD assures us this is normal hormonal flux and there are not any physical concerns.
As her cycles go, she is my carbon copy as a teen. Fortunately, DH has to tolerate only her PMS as the Gods smiled upon me and DH a few years ago with my hysterectomy (and the ANGELS SING!) DD actually will have all the symptoms of the cycle except the cycle itself. We track them on the calendar (in secret woman code of course) for the MD, I do not tell her but DH has figured out the code.
Every few months I enter the house and DH has a look of panic on his fast (one only the father of a 16yo girl can master) and utters the phrase "she is how many days late?" I respond to DH "it's a woman thing", who would have thought DH would actually look forward to PMS? ROFL
My advice, if the physical concerns have been addressed with MD and no sexual activity is taking place....roll on, you definitely have your hands full with baby and teen.
Happy Parenting!
