Jean shopping with DD

OMG - Thank goodness for my DD's great sense of humor (which won out over insecurity today). We went to the GAP for jeans, and between us tried on at least 9 pairs of jeans. None of which fit! The names of the cuts are just gibberish - "boy cut", "low rise", "curvy", "straight" - every single cut was too low on the hip and too narrow in the legs for either of us....even when we went to bigger sizes than we normally wear! By the end we had such giggles!! And swore we'd never buy pants at the GAP again!!

Must have been a shopping weekend! We are headed to FL next week for a vacation and my dd needed a new bathing suit - we were in Target and they had some cute ones so she grabbed a few bikini's. My hubby laughed and said he was going to look at shorts for him because he wouldn't like any of the suits she had on anyway - tried to move her toward the one piece speedos - LOL!
Now, my daughter is almost 16 and has only really "grown up" in the past 10 months or so - she tried on this string bikini and said "I'm not sure about this one" - we laughed so hard - thankfully she didn't want it and is still a bit shy because, to be honest, it looked awesome on her - if she was 25! She opted for a less revealing one, but looked just as great in it.

I don't even make an attempt to fit into the Gap jeans. I've never had the shape that's required to fit into those pants.
By the way, Gap has opened a new store for us mature ladies that I beleive is called Towne and Forth or maybe it's Forth and Towne. Anyhow, the clothes are sized for us and not those skinny minnie teen girls. You know, skinny legs, no hips. Do I sound jealous? LOL
So, what did your DD end up buy? Anything?

We don't buy jeans at the Gap either... N is pretty curvy, but everything that fits decent in the waste and hips is too tight in the thighs... me thinks she was blessed with my MIL's butt (would have made JLo envious in her day!) but my thighs.
Don't even start me on bathing suits! My DD decided last summer that she likes how she looks in a bikini.... OTOH I'm glad she's confident, OTOH I'd love a bit more coverage!

I get some of my work clothes from the following site, but they also offer some SUPER cute swimsuits that provide a bit more coverage than your average string bikini... might be worth checking out:

I especially like these ones:

LOL -- I wish I could say my dd and I share this experience! Instead the girl is a size 1 for goodness sakes. At most a 3!! I on the other hand will be in a store with her, see a jacket or top I like, ask for an extra large and find I can't even get it even CLOSE to being able to button up. Forget the pants! Even a size 16 in the stores she shops at aren't "real" 16s.
But then again I was a "petite" youngster myself....
