Just wanted to thank you for recommending I read "The Tenth Circle" I just finished it last night and passed it on to DD. The similarities were amazing - especially the fact we live in Maine lmao, when I found that out, I was like "wow, I have to read it now!"

I don't think dd started it yet, but I will definitely let you know her reaction.

I'm glad you enjoyed the book -- weren't the parallels between the story and what was going on in your DD's life at the time spooky? Were you as appalled by the casual attitude the teen characters in the novel had toward sex as I was? Those sex games? Yikes ...

I almost bought 'Disappearing Acts' by the same author a few days ago. I passed for now because her books are ones I have a really hard time putting down, so I have to wait until a time comes I can read uninterrupted for several hours.

Happy Halloween to you!

It was very eerie and I can definitely understand why you reacted to my post that day the way you did. Like I said it was so completely parallel to our lives down to where we live (it's set not even an hour from where we live!). It was really freaky! Unfortunately, the non-chalant manner sex was used in the book didn't shock me too much, as sadly I have heard all too often the stories. One of dd's best friends sisters (LOL) had a friend that went to the school in the next town and the rainbow game was a very popular game (the sister gave dd and her friend a lecture lol). And if you read my post about buying 2 girls a pregnancy test, sex seems to be a very popular extra-curricular activity up here. When I worked for a city up here 10 years ago, I processed all the birth certificates and even 10 years ago, it blew me away how many teen girls came through my doors.

DD did start reading the book today too, she hasn't gotten too far with it, but I will definitely keep ya up-to-date to her reaction to it.
