...from snowboarding at Whistler BC with DD.
It was just the two of us for some dad / daughter time.
Did someone say this age is a roller coaster ride?

We were talking about one of her friends, Christina, who DD claims her father is a lot like me..."all over-protective and crap." Then she says, "You know dad...that's really not such a bad thing."
My heart skipped a beat..

Then a few hours later at dinner we were talking about some of her other friends and I asked if "Stephanie had a boyfriend."
She let me know in certain terms, that was none of my business.
I jokingly explained that I am actually not interested in becoming Stephanies boyfriend, I was just making conversation.
Then she gets mad and tells me it's "completely weird" that I would be interested in one of her friends "love life."
ROFL... I had no idea this simple question would elicit such a freak out.

Overall.. a very nice trip.
I guess I'll just have to be careful with the questions.

PS... Stephanie is not my type

ROTFL!! Sounds like a great trip...and I agree about the oddest things triggering "freak outs" in our kids! I think your response was hilarious :-)

Yes, daddioe, it's a roller coaster ride..... or a day in the lab with Jeckyll and Hyde. I'm so glad you had some golden moments with your dd on your trip. We have to treasure every one we get!

Isn't it strage about the question thing? Dh or I will be having a normal conversation with dd when - out of the clear blue sky - she will suddenly look at us as though we have begun to speak to her in Swahili. We could be talking about something as benign as is there show practice on the weeekend when the look of pure incomprehension drops over her face and the attitude emerges.
