Kelsie did great with her tonsils

We are home and she is doing very well. Went in this morning, she was into surgery right on time and out in 20 minutes. They took her tonsils out and her adnoids had already disappeared. Dr. says they are usually gone by about 13 or 14. When he came out to talk to us she was already awake.

We were home a little after 11:00 and she is sleeping right now. She needs to sleep off that anesthesia. She has been talking fine and not too much pain so far. We'll see in a few hrs. though.

Thanks for all your best wishes. Y'all are great support!

Happy to hear everything went well, and you're back home safe and sound! Sounds cozy, and hope there's little discomfort when the anesthesia wears off...what are her dietary restrictions, curious, my kids never had their tonsils out. I did, all I remember is laying in the back seat of some big old car (this is long before the days of seat belts, lol) ad vomiting...sorry for the TMI...

That's awesome! I've always heard it's more difficult to have tonsils removed as a teen than it is when younger....I was very curious to see how she did! So glad it went well.

It's great to hear she did so well. My younger son, 9, went for his pre-op yesterday and surgery is next Tuesday. Please keep us informed how she does later today and throughout the week. I'd love to hear she had little pain and a very quick recovery.

So far so good. She has been sleeping off the anesthesia most of the day and I just gave her the first dose of her pain med. But she seems to be doing well.

As for eating, today she can have some jello and applesauce. I'm sure there are other things but this is what she likes. Starting tomorrow she can have a soft diet and must stay with that for the next 2 weeks, so soft sandwiches, pasta, tuna, that kind of thing. Nothing crunchy or spicy.
