My dd is a senior this year and we both had the same thought yesterday--this is her last "first day of school." Of course, when she goes to college, there will still be first days of school, but this is it for regular school. I can't believe she is this old! My DS (age 11) said the other day, "I don't know what I'm going to do when Sarah goes to college. I missed her when she was at camp and that was only one week." I thought that was so cute.

Well, I'll have to find out how school went. They only had 1/2 day today & tomorrow. My DS had to go to a new school, his 1st time taking the bus and it's a much bigger school, I think 1300 kids, compared to about 400 in his elementary school. He did call me to say he got on the wrong bus getting home. I think he followed a friend who lives kind of near us, thinking he would be on the same bus and he wasn't, so he went to the friend's house. Hopefully tomorrow he can figure it out. at least he didn't end up on the other side of town.

I was such a mess last year! LOL I did ok when my dd brought her papers home from 5th grade to fill out, and my ds brought his stuff from pk to fill out, but then, my ds who was a senior brought me the stuff to fill out and I just sat there and cried as I realized that never again would I be filling out papers pertaining to him. Never again would the school care who his parents are, who is doctors are, what he's allergic to. The first of school will never ever come again for him.

Oddly enough, this year, as I'm filling out the brother and sisters papers again, there is the oldest brothers name, again and again, but this time, he's an emergency contact! LOL

Hope today went well! IKWYM about the younger sib - my kiddos are 8 years apart and my DS7 is *already* worried about what he'll do when his sis goes to college!

Hope his day went well, too!!
