Oh I am sorry. You're right it is really painful to see your kid feeling bad. Good luck today! Betty

I'm sorry that happened, Pam! 16th birthdays are kind of special ones, aren't they? I hope a special day today will help lift his spirits.

Sorry to hear about Justin's night. It's so hard to see our kiddos hurt!

One lesson for Justin, though, is that those kind of open-ended "come by if you can" parties are very hard to predict. Next time he'll do better with a more planned thing - with good friends who he can depend on to show up.

Hope you guys have a great day today!!

Oh, Pam, my heart is breaking for you and your ds! You're right. Nothing is worse. I would rather have pins stuck in my nostrils than to see my dd hurt. Don't you just wish you could play some kind of brainwashing tape while he's sleeping so he'll just forget the whole thing??

Oh Pam, I feel so bad...my dd16 and I planned a big party for her 16th and only about 1/3 of the kids showed up (about 10 out of 30)...it was at a private hall and I made so much food and that night it poured rain; dd never got many RSVP's and we had a DJ and everything was supposed to be a big-to-do....turned out everyone who DID show up had fun, but I know dd was slightly disappointed it wasn't what she expected.

Like your ds, she doesn't have very good social skills and never seems to hang with a 'crowd' per se and obviously leaves herself out of events or conversations. It's like she has many decent friends or acquaintances, but not really a set 'group', so it's always been hard for her to plan parties and they almost always are duds (at least since she was really little anyway).

Many hugs to you and your son - I hope you were able to have a great day afterall.
