Hello - I'm mostly a lurker but I really value all the different perspectives. We live in the Pacific Northwest. We have a just turned 20 DD living on her own in a nearby state, working hard as an assistant manager at a clothing store and on her third (!) college. We will help her move to a new apt. this weekend. DS is 16 and will be a HS junior. He is captain of his cross-country team, an excellent student, and is a new driver so DH and I have a few more gray hairs :)

Carson from Minneapolis. Married 30 years. I've been off the teen board for a while, celebrating our anniversary in Rome, Florence, Orvieto, Siena and Venice Italy. DS1 is 26, DS2 is 23 and DD is 17.
I'm blessed with delightful, wonderful children. My little spawns of the devil have transformed into young adults who are an absolute joy.
DD will be a senior this year, starting September 4th.

Married for 29 years to the love and sometimes cross to carry of my life!!! Mom to Steven 26, the perfect child and to Kara 16, God's blessing, adopted, the child of my heart, but she is driving me crazy!!!

Steven lives at home!!! But he is out of town pretty much half of the week. Great job - engineer with Southern Company - but what kid would want to leave home when his dad gets up at 5 pm to make his breakfast and his mom has supper waiting - when he is in town! But, he also, when he is home will, mop, vacuum and clean bathrooms - while my darling daughter will sleep, sleep, sleep, leave wet towels on the floor, moldy food in her room, borrow and not return my deodorant,make-up, hairspray - but will come jump in my lap, give me hugs and kisses and then have a MAJOR ATTITUDE!!! But, I will miss it all when she is gone - who would think you would miss smelly towels and moldy food - only a mom!!!

Thanks Pam!

I'm a newbie to the net--and this is the first week end I discovered this site. Fascinating to hear other moms of teens talk... I am married with two daughters--13 and going on 15. One is going into 8th grade and the other 9th. School starts day after Labor Day. My oldest daughter starts field hockey at the school August 22nd and that will be a key day! It's a new school as we are moving to Bergen County, NJ. I am praying she will be included there, as she has acne, and that causes some to shy away, although she is really a lovely, sweet wonderful girl. But I understand appearances are important to teens. So, we'll see... Thanks to those who gave advice and best to all, Dary

Hi Everyone,
I am a 40+ mom of 2 teenage sons, a 17 yr. old and 15 yr. old. The 17yr. old graduated last spring and the 15 yr. old is a sophomore this year. I haven't found out when school starts yet, but is usually the last weekday in August. The 15yr. old is hoping to take his driver's ed course this year and I don't know if I am ready for 2 sons driving.

Been married for almost 19yrs. to dh, Darren, and have 1 dog 2 cats and a remnant of sanity left after almost 19yrs.

I should be starting my "first real job" since the boys started school. I went back to college and finished my degree in December of last year. I am waiting for the test dates so I can take my state board exams for my teacher's certification.

So just a dull life here. What about everyone else?
