OK - Now I am P.O.'d!
DD came home after my last post and said that she confronted the counselor at school on Friday. Counselor told her basically what she told me - the are monitoring the situation. DD told her about an event that took place at school this past week where MG humiliated her again in front of peers. Counselor basically dismissed it and told DD that she needs to work on her self esteem. DD held her ground and told her that MG was the one with the issues, and counselor basically told DD that she is overreacting.
WTF!!
Isn't counselor supposed to assist DD with her self esteem issues? Not dismiss the issues and tell her she needs to work on it?!
I bit my tongue with DD for fear of totally going off and fueling her anger as well. Bear in mind that when I called Asst principal this week for a status, she asked the counselor to call me back. So basically they are pawning this whole thing off!
Now, I am realistic and I know that I do not know both sides of the story as counselor does...but it is the school's job to take care of this sort of thing!
I will be leaving a message with the principal on Monday after spring break alerting her that superintendent will be called when I hang up, and if needed my attorney will also be contacted. I had decided to let DD handle it, but now they have dismissed her concerns as well.
UUUGGGHHH!! I wonder if the state attorney general as any pull. I am not one to start problems, but the fact that the school is basically telling DD that it is her fault and she is overreacting......PISSES ME OFF!

IMO, this couselor is incompetant!!
Do you know anyone on the school board? Only once have I been totally PO'd about something that happened at school that I was getting no satisfaction on, called a member of our church who was also on the school board, and boy did things start moving then!! Maybe this counselor's callousness needs to be pointed out to a member of the school board too.
