Mid-Terms Already?!

DD has mid-terms all the week - which means the school year is already half-over! Sure is going faster than I expected and realized.

Today is a tough day for her -- European History (an AP class) and Geometry and I think C is a wee bit stressed this morning.

Anybody else's teens heading into mid-terms this week?

We had semester finals right before winter break; on to semester 2 now where those finals are at the end of May. We don't really do midterms; they base everything on semester.

Here, the kids have block scheduling so dd14/freshman is having her first crack at finals this week. This past week has been extremely stressful for her - between projects/studying and her bf whining that she's not spending enough time with him and all of her mess with cheering. I will be extremely relieved when this week is over!

Sadly, no... there hasn't been a lot said about it here locally, other than they don't believe she is in the river. Nothing has been said about whether they believe she ran away or was abducted. Here is the latest news link on the situation:

It sure goes fast, doesn't it? I was thinking just last week that there are really only two more years with C before she's off to college. I still have MY baby around for a while though, lol.

How tragic. I can't imagine anything worse for any parents and I hope they learn something soon. Thanks for the update.

My freshman DS has 2 mid-terms today, 2 tomorrow, and 2 on Thursday. Being his first year of high school, I don't think he really knows what to expect. He did study for science with a friend over the weekend. They had 2 1/2 hours in the car together. Then he studied for health last night at home. I hope it was enough. I'm glad he studied at all--it's not something he typically has done a lot of!

We had semester tests before we broke for Christmas break. Ds15 passed them all except Algebra (he made a 66 on it) but his semester grades were high enough that he passed all subjects for the semester. whew. This was his first go-round with them in hs and he was pretty nervous about them. They had them in middle school, but high school is a horse of a different color. He really studied hard for them. I was proud of him.

And yes, it's hard to believe the year is half gone already.
