I don't think it's that unusual for a girl that age not to want to talk too much about what is going on.
I know it's hard to accept, especially if you've had a close relationship with DD up to now- but this really sounds more like she's just taking control of her own responsibilities as she matures. LUCKY YOU! Truly. I have a 16yo DD also, and a couple older girls on their own. Unless you have reason to believe your DD's "silence" is due to some horrible secret behavior, it might be time to start giving her some space. MOST do eventually come to us for more than "wants" if we don't push too hard.
