Hi there,

Normally I'm on the 10-14 year old board as I have 2 kids that fall in that group BUT I also have a 17 year old daughter.

I guess I want to know if it's normal for her to have this "I don't care about your opinions/concerns/questions/etc." towards her brother.

Out of curiosity, why hasn't she been driving?

I guess we were at the other end of the spectrum from visiting 15 colleges.

I was wondering how to handle college campus tours.

My 17 year old has done a little with it.

From what little you wrote, it sounds like the typical "little brother annoys me" and "my older sister is bossey".

That's very,very (I repeate) very normal.

All you can and should do is to calmly "call them both" when it happens. Is little brother thinking of others when he takes the last piece of pie or whatvever? Is big sister right to get into his face about it?

You are the parent, not your daughter. When it happens, you step in and take control.

<<>> Just because the calender says she's an adult, does not mean she IS an adult.
