My daughter is being bullied!!

We just moved to a very small town in Idaho from Raleigh, NC. My daughter's high school where she is a freshman only has 450 kids in the whole school.
The first week went fine she met a girl named Brandee and they became friends. Well, Brandee decided to transfer to the "alternative" school, and suddenly this "gang" of girls started picking on my daughter.
They threatened to beat her up if she remained friends with Brandee. My daughter simply told her that her friends were her friends and that she was not going to fight about it.
They called my home and the mother even threatened me, for no apparent reason.
I filed 2 police reports, talked with the principal and one of the girls was suspended for 3 days.
Yesterday the sister of the girl that got suspended was shoving my daughter in the back during class and throwing things at her. I told the principal, he basically ignored it.
I am not going to take this.
Our teens and all other children deserve to learn in a safe environment, and not be afraid to go to school.
I have created an online petittion if anyone cares to sign. We must put an end to this.
Gone are the days of simple name calling, now we have to worry about weapons in our schools and the number of teens that commit suicide due to bullying is on the rise.
Let's end this NOW.

That is an awesome thing you did!! Good for YOU!! Too many parents sit idly by and allow the abuse, or the bullies parents think thier kids can do no wrong. KUDOS to you!!
Amen to anyone messing with my kid too. So far this week, it's been OK, but my eyes and ears are open.

Thanks. One thing about living in a small town after a big city is they really didn't know what to make of me. No one else had ever made a stink about anything. Go get em if you have to. Hope you don't.

Wow! I so sorry your family, and especially your son, had to go through all that. But expulsion and then a transfer!? Give me a break! Where was the jail time? Incidents like this raise my ire greatly - I have zero tolerence for crime, anyway, including crimes of violence. How is your son doing now? You said it turned out well in the end. Was your son able to get beyond that horrific experience?

There was no jail time because they were all juveniles. There was restitution and community service. One apologized to my son later. The happy ending is that my son is now 27 years old and has put the incidents far behind him. He still lives in the same small town, has many friends and operates a Christian Martial Arts school that is very sucessful as he is gifted with motivating and relating to troubled children. Good things do come from bad don't they?
