Ok, the rule in our house is that if my dd (age 13) has a MySpace and/or email, then we get the passwords, and we get to read it.

My dd has a my space and I go on it every so often and I find it to be really interesting st times. I often check out what her "friends" have on their my space and will talk to her about what I see if I need to. She has hers set so all I have to do is click on her name and I get into it, she doesn't mind that I check it out when ever I want. She knows I do it, yes I have found some language that isn't to my liking, but I know she uses bad language sometimes, but she doesn't around me. I know I did the same thing when I was her age and now I just don't use it anymore.

The other day I told her bff that I had gone onto her my space and she asked me if I read the whole thing and what did I think of it. I told her the only thing I didn't like was that my dd had written a not so nice word as a comment to one of her pictures.

I could check dd's e-mails too, I know her password, but I don't, mostly it is junk mail anyway. I did used to check it more often when she was younger, but she has shown me that I can trust her and she is 17 now nad I have been letting go of things little by little.

DS has a my space, but doesn't have anything on it and doesn't check it, same with his e-mail. He just doesn't have an interest.
