Need Healthy Snacking Suggestions

This probably sounds like a very silly question but DD17 has gotten accepted into a summer photography program in New York City in July. She is very excited but she is also very nervous about what she is going to eat. She has gastritis and tends to feel sick every morning although she has been improving since she has been on new meds. She will be staying at a university dorm and she's afraid that they aren't going to have any food that she can eat even though we already know that they have a lot of salads and wraps which she usually doesn't have a problem digesting. So I've been searching for some snacking ideas that would work in a dorm room besides the obvious peanut butter and jelly, breakfast bars, and crackers, crackers and more crackers. There is no frig and I wanted to send her with enough healthy snacks in case the campus food doesn't agree with her. Thanks for any suggestions you may have!!

I'll admit I don't know much about gastritis and have no idea what is good/bad for it. My dd lives off of rice cakes, fruit cups, those Ensure drinks, and she used to eat those packages of Ramen noodles uncooked. She also likes to eat cereal but without the milk lol - like the yoghurt cheerios and the chex....

Congrats to her for being accepted into the program!!

Can you get a rough menu from the dorm? It'd be great to know, for example, if yogurt is always available. Til I read about the no frig part, I was hoping you could send her with Activia; it sure seems to help ds and me, and my dad is trying it now too. Even 'normal' yogurt may help (but Activia is great). I wonder if she could even work it out that they could keep that kind of thing in the frig for her? I'd get with the school and see how they can help.

FWIW - would she have an option of buying her own food as she goes along? - in Manhattan, there's a small deli or a real grocery store on almost every corner! That way she doesn't have to plan for every possible outcome, just have enough for the first few days.
