Central Illinois here-3 boys ages 16,20, and 22. One DH, 3 dogs, 1 cat, and a very few surviving saltwater fish.
When looking at houses in a new construction area back in the late 80s, there was a road called Windrush. I thought the name was so pretty and always quipped that I wanted to live on Windrush. We moved away from that town in '92 so I don't anticipate getting my wish
54 is the year I was born. I think I am the second oldest regular on the board
I'm Kristie from Town of Tonawanda, NY (Buffalo suburb) I have been married to Dave for almost 20 yrs, Kelsie is 17 and a senior, Jaryd is 15 and a sophomore. We have our own photography business. Dave travels to many states in the NE US (and also Michigan)
I'm having an identity crisis! I have not used my real name since trying to be consistent with what I told my kids at the time I joined (DD trying to sell Beanie Babies of all things online and I would not let her use her real name) so I use "Helen", who is a very close friend. As for my screen name, the name I use for Ebay, etc. was taken so I started with dahlia, which is a flower I love, but that was taken, so I just started adding letters at either end and came up with a totally nonsensical kdahliaa.
We live in the far West and have two emergent adults - DD is 20 and a college student in a nearby state and DS just turned 17 and is a junior. DD is a music performance (oboe) /political science major, barista, and total live wire and DS is a talented runner and writer, top notch student, and homebody.
Did someone say 1954 - that was a great year to be born!
I'm going to have to reign myself in here cuz I could go on and on...my name is Jane, I'm 49, married for 15 years, 3 kids, DS-18+, DD-15 and DD-12. We live in NY and always have, save for a 7 year stint in FL. We live in the woods and can't easily see another house. Pets- a Sheltie, 4 cats, 2 birds, 2 turtles ( the most work), a hamster and fish.
DH is self employed and works out of a converted barn next to the house. I help him as needed, I'm *on call*. I have more patience for the small things.
I am another avid reader, I feel very uncomfortable if I don't have at least a short stack on my bedside table. I'm currently loving *The Divide* by Nicholas Evans.
themamas...a simple story really, other than I am a mama...my very first serious boyfriend came from a family of 9 children. They were about as self sufficient as a family can be and lived on the dad's salary as a school bus driver. Heated with wood, raised most of their own food, shared, and lived very frugally. The parents lived what could only be called a love story and the dad called his wife *the mamas*. I stole it. This is probably the first time I've fully explained that. Thanks for reading.... ;)
Sue(48), dh(49), M@(15, sophomore), STL area. My name is my name and first initial of last name, plus old address number (got on ParentsPlace when M@ was 2; have since moved).

Greetings,
