A nice surprise!

Yesterday, my DD didn't have school (Winter Break ends today), so she spent the day at home (working part of the day on her Global Studies paper). I asked her to please unload the dishwasher at some point in the day and she said "OK". I called when I was on my way home and asked again "yeah, I will in a few minutes". When I came home, a quick glance in the kitchen showed the dishwasher open but full, so I went into the living room and said "You didn't do what I asked you"

She got a really hurt look, and said "I did!", so I took a more careful look.

Oooops, gotta eat my words! Not only did she empty the dishwasher but she RELOADED it with the dirty dishes I had left in the sink, and handwashed the pot and bowl that couldn't go into the dishwasher! I must have apologized and thanked a half dozen times!

Luck you! I can definitely relate to the first part of your post. I have left notes and called at times to come home to a dishwasher full of clean dishes waiting to be put away. I have never had one of my daughters load it without being asked and reminded again. Good for your daughter. Now you have to ask yourself, "What did she want?" HaHa!

I'm impressed! She cooks dinner for you AND does dishes? Hhhhhmmm ... you're raising a fine young lady there, Sue.

Where did I go wrong? Last night, I gave the kids an ultimatum: the next time I find a wet towel on a bedroom floor, the user of said towel will be doing dinner dishes that night! Think it'll work?
