That must have been quite a shock, even though it's been years since you've seen or maybe even really thought about him.

Sorry to hear of your long-ago, ex-bf's death. Do you plan to go to the funeral? It'd feel awkward if you haven't seen him in 25 years, but living only 2 hrs away maybe you have run into him and old friends from HS.

I don't think I'll be going to the funeral, though I'll probably send a sympathy card to his sister and his parents.

Oh Rose i am so sorry,

Of course thinking of him must bring back some memories,I will pray for his family. How devestating that must be and 4 children.

Yea I know I think we all thought we were all grown up and knew all the answers lol. Funny how things change in our lives and we get just a .........tinie bit older and our perspectives change lol

My condolences to his family, to his children and to all his friends, past and present.
I think one of the "crappest" things in life is seeing friends pass on. It's so sad, especially when those friends were such an important part of our youth.

Recently, I meet a classmate from university who I haven't seen for over 30 years.
We talked about how bittersweet life is. Back then we were all so full of life and promise; so eager to get on with our lives. We thought that we had 'all the time in the world'.
But we didn't.

Again,my condolences..

Its weird how, when we leave our friends behind and move on, we still see them in our "mind's eye" as they were when we left and when we knew them.
