And we have quite a few parents out there in the "Been There Done That" Category and we have parents in the "This is the first time around" group..

Let's hear Your Do's and Don'ts of Prom time.... And Lets hear Your list of questions if you are a first timer..

BTW IT IS NOT TOO SOON FOR BOOKING THE LIMO!

LOL. . .well, we haven't ventured into the Realm of Prom Night here yet. Unless my daughter or son is invited by a Senior, which I forsee as highly unlikely.

I've bebn MIA, but saw this and I would love some info! We have Jr. Prom next year and myself and another parent are "post prom" co-chairs! We already are recruiting committee members and will have everything in place by the time school starts in the fall - it takes a school year to get everything done! The experts out there can give us first hand info on dresses, tuxes, and all the frills that go along with a prom.

One piece of advice I have been given already as I have a dd ~~ go out after prom season this year to look for a dress ~~ ON CLEARANCE!!! I have one friend who ended up paying $60.00 for a $300.00 dress! The girls I have talked to say the styles do not change enough from one year to the next, so a lot of them do that so they can do all the extra's like all new accessories, hair, nails, tanning. I know a lot of junior mom's this year that gave their daughters a limit.....like $100, $150......I am hearing girls have paid up to $400.00 for a dress!! NOT IN THIS HOUSE!

Any tips, info would be greatly appreciated1

Hi I'm new to this board

My 3rd son had his first prom the 12th of april. So I been there and done that. Here is some more advice.

first the tux....when you go to pick up the tux be sure to see it on your ds yourself don't take his word on whether it fits or not. We have had 2 left shoes, had to pin vest on and jackets have been too big before.

Next pictures, If pictures are taken at the prom, consider going early to have them taken. Leave and go eat, if that is how it's done where you are, then return to the prom because the line for pictures will be so long the kids will not want to wait.

and go out and have fun yourself that night. :)
