OT - Twilight books

I was wondering if any parents here have read the book "Twilight" and/or its sequels "New Moon" and "Eclipse" by Stephenie Meyer. They are directed at the teen/young adult audience, but I have become hooked on them, and I understand that I am not the only "mature" reader who has done so. The only discussions I can find about them online are mostly comments posted by teens. If anyone out there has read them and would like to discuss them, feel free to email me!

I'm embarrassed to say because it's something I NEVER thought I'd even be remotely interested in, but it's about a high school girl who moves to the Pacific Northwest and falls in love w/ a boy who turns out to be a vampire! I know, I said "No way" when I first heard about it, but it is true that it really is impossible to put down. It's sort of a love story/suspense type of book. Lots of people (adults included) are obsessed with the series. It's actually very sweet and the story itself works on so many levels.

I'm pretty sure C reads these, based on your description of the books!

Thanks. I believe I've looked at that website, but I had the feeling that most of the people commenting were teens. I'd love to talk about it with somebody closer to my age. I'll take another look at it, though!

Yeah there are lots of teens ... but there is a smattering of adults.

Wow, I just checked the county library catalog and there are no fewer than 82 requests for her books.

The first one is available in paperback, but not the other two. It didn't matter to me--as soon as I finished one, I went out and bought the next one! That TV show you mentioned sounds like it might be capitalizing on the popularity of these books!
