Oh... I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. And yes, there is a special place in heaven for our beloved animals.
I've been trying to find an e-mail a friend sent me after one of my animals died. It was about the Rainbow Bridge and how one day they will run across it to meet us. If I can't find it to post, maybe someone else has it and will post it so that we can both have it. It brought me comfort, maybe it would for you, too. I'll keep looking.

Hi Pam & cat_momma,
I found this at www.petloss.com:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Count me as one of the cat obsessed, I have 4. Pam, your story of burying your cat reminded me of a lovely children's book by Judith Viorst, The 10th Good Thing About Barney. It's about a boy whose beloved cat dies, and his father tells him to think of 10 good things about him for his funeral. The boy can only think of 9, so they use those during the funeral, and bury the cat under a tree. The boy wonders what will happen to Barney once he's buried, so the father explains that Barney will decompose and feed the tree and other plants nearby, so that becomes the 10th good thing about Barney.
As we Jews say, may Taylor's memory be for a blessing.
Hugs,
Deborah
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I've joked before about our two cats here that are not the brightest bulbs.
Truth is, I really adore them. Moose is sitting here with his motor running clamoring for my attention. There has to be a pet heaven. Cyber hugs to you and the family.

So sorry, Pam. Having lost 2 cats in the last few years, I know how hard it can be. They sure become parts of our family.
Sue
Thank you for finding that for us!!

Oh gosh, Pam ... sending many hugs your way. I well know how hard it is to say goodbye to a beloved Pet. It's been nearly a year now since I said goodbye to my beloved yellow lab, and I still think of him and miss him tons. When the time came, he had lost just about completely the use of his hind legs and my comfort was knowing that he was finding his way to doggie heaven and those legs of his were working just fine again. (Sheesh, here I am crying all over again!)
We've brought home two tiny kittens this past June (my, how quickly they grow!) and I am committed to keeping them indoor cats; (we have a coyote problem here) they are so cute! And no doggie breath...
Cyberhugs to you Pam.
