monday i had two screws put into right arm. it's in a splint, we got home about 2am on tuesday. left arm doesn't need a cast, is in a sling and i have to keep it at a 90 degree angle, no lifting. they were going to let me go to work on wednesday, according to my discharge orders! dh got that straightened out, started anyway. i'm off for 2.5 weeks. then go back to see if all's healing. thank heaven for pain pills, but i've been having to take advil to get them to kick in good. i'm on antibiotics, i made sure to ask for that since i work in the hospital and am exposed to everything.

dh is being wonderful. feeding, cleaning me. showered me yesterday. he and dd1 helped me get one contact in, we'll try the other one again today. brushing my teeth. dd2 trimmed my toenails last night, dd1 painted them. the baby will come up to me and just rub my face. dd3 is at gm's house, but she tells me she loves me more.

i've been told several versions of workman's comp. employer said i had to use all my vacation time (3 weeks ) before it kicked in. i got them straight on that. hopefully after i see dr i'll be back at light duty. must remember to ask him if i can drive, if not, i've got to ask for a prescription for them to provide me with assistance. i'll be paid wc from day 1 until i go back. if i go back after dr appointment, i'll only use about a day of vacation for covering my benefits.

thanks for all the well wishes. i'm gonna go take a nap. can't spend long doing anything. and thankheavens for cooler weather here.

Hugs to you, Sallie. I can't believe your employer would tell you that vacation must be used up before WC kicks in--glad it's been straightened out. From your description, it seems 2.5 weeks should be the minimum amt of time before you return to work. It's a good thing all your family members are helping out. Hope the pain soon subsides and that you're soon back in the swing of things.

Your employer should know better than to make you take vacation before WC!!
