...and then offer up any thoughts. I'm going to try to condense the story as much as I can. This is re: DS-18's best friend, since the 2nd grade. I'll call him Baby Huey. If you saw him, you'd get it. He has a pretty lousy family backround.

also try the school. ss if he is still young they probably will not help him, i know it is sad, my brother i few years back tryed to get help but you are respnsible for them until like 25 at least in ny. so he could not get any help. the school councilers may be able to help better with his problem. they know the system, you should get an advicat to hlp you. i know it is hard, it is not your kids but you want to help i give you alot of creadit.

I may call my own son's guidance counselor. Maybe he can point me in some direction, he's helped me before. This boy got expelled in his junior year. He was allowed to return the following fall, but it would have been again as a junior, and since he was already held back in elementary school, he blew that off, didn't want to be 18 and repeating 11th grade, he rues that choice now. He is taking the test for his GED the end of January but he's been away from anything academic for so long...


Thing is I don't want to do any of the actual work for him, I want to encourage him to do it himself...and at least point him where he should go.


Windrush, already got some important info off the S.S. website, they only do intake until 11 a.m., M-F. right there I could see him blowing it...
