I should preface this by saying that at the moment I am incredibly unhappy with older teen/young 20-something employees that I supervise.

My kids aren't allowed to work during the school year.

So funny, reading all the comments about employees.

I've been thinking some about the comment about not turning one's children into slaves.... There are slaves, and then there are contributing members of the household.

I find that w/ DHs it helps to tell them that it's all the housework that is making you too tired for sex!

I resent the implication that I am the slave to my kids!! I am not here to serve them! I here to be sure that they turn into responsible adults! I work only part time out of the house, but I am no one's slave!! My kids do choees because without learning to go to work, do well in school AND do the chores they will not be ready for the real world. My mommy still does not come to my house and cut the lawn, dust my living room or fold my my undies.

Oh Ramona,

With a smile I say I'm sorry. I did not mean to be rude.

I think you and I and many of the others are on the same page with

I don't think Ramona was talking to YOU, Kimmy. And as much as your Mom was trying to give good advice re your hubby, I do think they'd heard of Gloria Steinem, in Texas. But maybe they just never listened.
Hubby needs to take care of wifey's needs too. And sometimes, wifey's needs are to just SLEEP in that bed. DH & I BOTH worked full-time our entire married life. And even if I hadn't, after doing housework, cooking, shopping, and taking care of 2 ADD/ODD/OCD/LD kids, I think flaunting a teddy would have been LAST on my totem pole. We did, however, find that when we locked the bathroom door, and turned the shower on full blast, they couldn't find us...

*I* didn't mean to be rude Kimmy. Maybe our difference is a North-South thing. After all, *MY* mother told me, "Just in case your husband runs off with his mistress, or forgets to pay the life insurance and gets hit by a bus, get a good education and a good job, so you can support yourself AND your children". And I did.
